Trevor Andrews

Trevor Andrews is a very experienced and successful trainer located
near Ascot Race Course in Perth, WA. Born in England, he became
interested in horse racing at the age of 15. Here in Australia, he
gained vast racing experience in the 1980s, working for leading
trainers including Sydney legend T J (Tommy) Smith who topped more
than thirty Sydney trainers’ premierships. In April 1989 Trevor
took out his own trainers' licence - he was an instant success. His
first Group 1 race win was in 1990 when Natasha won the WATC
Australian Derby. A year later Heroicity repeated this tremendous
feat by winning the 1991 WATC Australian Derby and went on further
to win the 1992 WATC WA Derby and the prestigious STC $1m BMW
Stakes. In 1996 Trevor took his considerable talent and experience
as a racehorse trainer to Singapore returning to Perth in 2000 when
he re-established himself in WA racing In 2004 Trevor achieved a
Group one double when Modem won the WATC Fruit 'N' Veg Stakes and
the WATC Railway Stakes. Other notable performers from his stables
include Key Business, Stray Bullet, Talk with her Eyes, Kinsfolk,
Summer Silence, Mystery to Me, The Right Money, Ravinia, Modem, No
Questions, Vain Crusader and Valparaiso. At present Trevor has
thirty racehorses in training and eight staff to help him ensure
these animals are in tip top condition. Trevor employs a number of
top jockeys including Troy Turner, Paul Harvey, Jason Brown, Shaun
O’Donnell, Peter Knuckey and Patrick Carbery.
